Carrollton runs on making things. Southwire — founded here in 1950, now one of the world's largest wire and cable manufacturers with over 1,500 local employees — anchors a manufacturing base that's been growing for decades. The Highway 166 (Bankhead Highway) corridor on the east side of town has become West Georgia's primary industrial growth strip, with Highway 61 feeding it from the south. Between the manufacturing plants, the distribution operations serving the Atlanta-Birmingham corridor, and the contractor trades supporting Carroll County's growth, there's no shortage of buildings that need a tough overhead door.
A commercial roll-up door earns its keep in exactly these buildings. The curtain rolls straight up into a drum — nothing tracks back across the ceiling, nothing hangs down into forklift clearance. For a shop bay that cycles twenty times a day or a warehouse drive-in that takes trailer traffic, that simplicity matters more than any feature list.
Steel Curtain Doors is based in Suwanee, Georgia — a commercial roll-up door company, and a division of Southern Home Creations. Carrollton is inside our metro Atlanta installation area: our own crews install, or you buy direct and pick up at 4110 Tench Road Suite D, Suwanee, GA 30024.
Picking the right Janus model
Think about the opening first, then match the door:
- Openings up to 10×10, light use — Janus 650. Storage units, small equipment bays, detached shop buildings. The economical choice when the door isn't cycling all day.
- Openings up to 12×14 — Janus 1000 (non-insulated) or 1000i (R-4.0 insulated). The 1000 is the default commercial door for service bays, warehouse personnel doors, and contractor shops.
- Openings up to 12×16 — Janus 2000 or insulated 2000i. Taller openings, bigger equipment, truck bays.
- Openings up to 18×18, heavy use — Janus 2500 or 3100. Wide distribution openings, high-cycle docks, anything where the door works as hard as the building does.
Insulated models cost more and add lead time — worth it for heated/cooled space, overkill for an unconditioned equipment barn. We'll tell you straight which camp you're in.

Carrollton roll-up door FAQs
We're putting up a metal building — what do I need to know before ordering the door?
The opening dimensions and headroom. Roll-up doors need less headroom than sectional doors, but the drum still needs clear space above the opening. Send us the building plans or the framed opening measurements and we'll confirm fit before you order.
Do you work with our building contractor?
All the time. We'll coordinate measurements and delivery timing with your contractor, or sell them the door direct. Call (470) 802-3203 and tell us who's building it.
How long does installation take?
A standard single-door install is typically a half-day job for our crew. We'll schedule it around your operations — most Carrollton installs happen within a week or two of the door arriving.
What if my opening isn't a standard size?
Custom sizes are available across the Janus lineup. Measure carefully (our How to Measure guide covers it) and call us — if it's buildable, we'll quote it.
Sizing it right
Measure the finished framed opening — width and height in three places each, use the smallest numbers. Don't measure the old door; measure the hole in the building. Five minutes with a tape measure beats a return trip every time.
