Keep the guides clean
Remove dirt, packing material and other debris from the guides and floor area around the opening. Do not let stored materials press against the curtain or block its travel.
Watch and listen during operation
Operate the door through a full cycle and pay attention to scraping, binding, jerking or a new change in effort. Stop using the door if it will not stay balanced or travel smoothly.
Inspect visible hardware
Look for loose fasteners, damaged guides, bent curtain slats, a worn bottom seal or anything that has shifted around the brackets and mounting surface. Keep the area around the barrel clear.
Use the correct lubrication guidance
Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions for the specific model. Do not apply a product to the guides, springs or moving parts unless the procedure calls for it.
Leave spring work to trained professionals
The barrel and spring assembly stores substantial energy. Spring tensioning, replacement or repair can cause serious injury and should be handled with the correct tools and procedure.
Stop forcing it and call for help before a small issue becomes damage.
